The first 2 paragraphs agree that snapshots are not art but they disagree about what art is. The first article believes that art can be true to life opera just isn’t it. The second paragraph argues that no art is relative to reality.
Paragraph number 2 both aree that violence is bad the second paragraph is simply more lengthy and in depth about the topis.
The final paragraphs agree as well.
When gifts are given to children a message comes with that gift. The message can be positive or negative but is there nonetheless. One message is sends relates to behavioral expectations. WHen a child is given a gift after a display of poor behavior, they begin to think that bad behavior produces good results. Parents should use gifts as a way to reinforce good behavior and family values.

Cavier and Fish Products by Barbara Rasco
Rose’s essay is an analysis of the educational world. He uses experiences from his own school experience to show the reader some of the major flaws that modern schooling is riddled with.
Salubrious: favorable to or promoting health or well-being
Chuckhole: a hole or rut in a road
Malady: an unwholesome or disordered condition
If the school system is so flawed then why do people put private schools above public ones?
Why doesn’t the school allow the student to choose their course?
Why aren’t there better guidelines for teachers to get more teachers like Mr. Mclahlan?
These articles offer a lot of good advice on college. It talks about different types of colleges and what they can offer. It better explained the purpose of ivies and encouraged students to look at different types of schools.
Brick and Mortar School: A school the student attends in person as opposed to online schools
Ivie: One of 8 schools that formed an agreement in 1945
Liberal Arts: Colleges that typically offer smaller class sizes and a more intimate philosophy on the college experience.
How are evaluator grades given at Liberal Art Schools and what do they mean?
Why does the media make a big deal of the Ivies when other colleges are just as good or better?
In the first article titled How to Mark a Book by Mortimer J. Adler, discussed the pros to writing in books. Also, he gave examples of how to mark a book effectively.
William Golding discussed three levels to thinking in his short story titled Thinking as a hobby. Golding ties in a memory from his childhood of three statues to his levels of thinking, level one being the highest.
Oratory: a place of prayer; especially : a private or institutional chapel
Penal: of, relating to, or involving punishment
Indignant: filled with or marked by indignation
If authors wanted us to write in their books why don’t they provide space to?
Who is Mr. Vallee?
Why does Golding say there are only 3 grades of thinking and no gray areas?
sorry to say this post has been potponed till clarification tommorow morning. aka 8 hours from now.

I chose the 10 commandments for my memorization because they are the basics of the Christian faith. If I were to live in a world where the bible no longer existed I would want to be able to teach my children about Christian belief. Also the ten commandments are important because they are what our great nations laws are somewhat based off of. Another reason this would be important to me is because I think that if a person follows the ten commandments they will be able to be a better person.
Several themes and trends run throughout the book covers that were provided. One of which is color. It has a common color pallet of oranges and reds as well as yellows. With my limited knowledge of the book, I feel that these colors symbolize the burning of books as well as the tension and anger felt through the book. The color of the cover is important because it can set the tone for the book and its themes. Another reoccurring object is a man sometimes a firefighter, sometimes a man covered in burning paper. This bit confuses me a little; it brings up images of the perpetrator as well as the victim. From this I assume that the book is balanced in its view of each side, or that there is a character caught in the middle. One obvious trend is fire. With my basic knowledge I know that the books are burned whish is the obvious reason for those flames. Another more subtle trend was that the numbers 451 where by far the largest of all the text found on the book. Some more themes where the intimidation and futuristic feel the cover gave. Two covers stood out to me. One was the last one with the robot looking dog and man in an empty street. This made me think futuristic because of the implication of robots and the end of the world. The one that made me feel intimidation was the one with the words read and destroy across the cover. This was interesting to me because of the bluntness of it.
