  • oversymplifying sources
  • talking in circles
  • abrupt transtitions and bad sentence structure
  • not citing sources

What to do:

  • make a strong introduction
  • make clear statements and well developed ideas
  • use your own opinion and experiences occasionally
  • use sources!!!- appropriatley
  • develop a clear and expoundable thesis

Strategies:

  • understand the question and read the prompt carefully
  • make your talking points clear before writing
  • use at least 3 sources
